Description

Once the survivors of the war began to regain religious belief in the form of fertility worship, they found one of the largest remaining churches in the area and re-purposed it for their new faith. This culminated in the Church of Fertility, located where the Union Congregational Church in Green Bay used to stand on South Madison St. While much of the original building had been destroyed, one of the main crosses inside had mostly survived, only losing the top left half. This became the new symbol of the Church of Fertility.

Originally, the Church of Fertility started as the First Presbyterian Church of Green Bay in 1835. During the times of the Civil War, it was one of the stops along the Underground Railroad. It did not become the United Congregational Church until 1899. During the war, most of the building’s exterior was destroyed. After the people decided to congregate there, they worked tirelessly to rebuild it from the ground up.
